Work is underway at CTPI to furnish up to 33 boiler feed pumps for the US Navy LHD-1 Wasp Class!
CTPI was awarded a $15 million contract by the US Navy for up to 33 Model DEN turbine-driven main feed pumps for the LHD-1 Wasp class. The Wasp-class make up the largest amphibious assault ships in the world and are designed to mostly support the U.S. Marine Corps.
This order follows CTPI’s successfully tested and approved Model DE, shock-tested in accordance with MIL-S-901D requirements. This test procedure is highlighted by a rigorous set of prescribed blows to the equipment with a 3,000 lb. test hammer while the unit is in operation.
Work is underway here at our Englewood, N.J. facility; the complete order is expected to be finished by January 2024.
